Bio

Gov Jeff Colyer MD is the longest serving Lt Governor in Kansas history. He is widely respected as the successful 47th Governor. He made Kansas the first state to privatize its entire Medicaid program into Kancare saving $2.5 billion, expanded services and is the basis of many other states programs. He solved the states 50 year education lawsuit adding over $1 billion to education without raising taxes. He improved the states credit outlook, and had more Kansas jobs than ever before. A surgeon known for volunteering in 25 war zones from Rwanda to Syria he provides trauma reconstruction in Kansas City. He advises companies and investment firms in the US and abroad. Originally from Hays, Gov. Colyer has degrees from Georgetown, Cambridge University and KU Med. With his wife, Ruth, they have three adventurous daughters.
