Bio

Mitzi Krockover, MD is the Founder and CEO of Woman Centered, LLC a company dedicated to improving the health of women.  Most recently she launched the Beyond the Paper Gown podcast, a part of the Off Scrip Health Media Network,  and created the Beyond the Paper Gown community, both of which aim to inform, inspire and engage women so that they can achieve optimal health.

She supports and mentors other women’s health entrepreneurs as a Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an angel investment organization dedicated to funding early-stage women-led companies; she serves as co-chair of the Golden Seeds Health Care Sector Group and is a founding member and co-leader of the Arizona Chapter of Golden Seeds.

Dr. Krockover has long been a leader in the area of women’s health and women’s issues. She was the founding Medical Director of the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center, designated a Center of Excellence by the Department of Health and Human Services. She then served as Vice President of Women’s Health for Humana Inc. where she was the company’s chief healthcare strategist and spokesperson for women’s health.  Currently, she serves as a member of the Council of the Women’s Health Innovation Coalition of Springboard, an accelerator for entrepreneurial life science and technology companies led by women and as an Ambassador of HITLab’s Women’s Health Initiative.

Board service is a key part of Dr. Krockover’s commitment to supporting both companies and organizations; she has served on both private corporate and non-profit boards. Currently, she is President of the Institute for Mental Health Research and serves on the board of the Black Women’s Health Imperative.  Additionally, she is a member of the National Council of the Institute for Public Health at Washington University and the Washington University Phoenix Cabinet.

Honors include Los Angeles County Commission on Women “Woman of the Year”, Korn Ferry’s “International Emerging Leaders in Health Care”, and one of “Arizona’s 48 Most Intriguing Women”.

A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with an AB in Arts and Sciences, Dr. Krockover received her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University.
